If you watched the video I posted about climate change and want to take action but don’t know how here are some ideas.
I was stunned to see one of my favorite gas stations on that list. No problem! There are other gas stations, even in my small town. Want the list? Here you go.
#2 Find out which politicians are responsible for removing the United States from the world-wide efforts to protect the environment and tell them how you feel about it.
#3 In every election — local, regional, or national — learn how the candidates have voted in the past on issues concerning the environment and nature. Did they vote against environmental protections? If they are not holding companies responsible for their oil spills, ocean pollution, and carbon emissions, then tell everyone you know and don’t vote for those candidates.
#4 Find out how you can help on a community level — either by actively participating or by donating much-needed money to support their efforts. One couple rebuilt a forest in twenty years by planting trees. (Click on that link to see the before and after photos and to read their story.) Got land? Live near it?
#5 Join the Environmental Defense Fund group, who has made fighting climate change their top priority. I just filled out my “Climate Change Survey,” which is available on their website to share your opinions and concerns. You can also join EDF to support their work against climate change.
There’s no reason to feel helpless about climate change when you can do something to make it better.
I shared what I do. Now it’s your turn. What are you doing to help save YOUR world?
Till next time,
