The Irony of Life, Part 23:  Want to Change the World?

Last night I met someone who made a difference in my feelings about this place.  She was not only kind but compassionate, the first one in my new location who understood how challenging it was for me to relocate during the Pandemic. Because I met her,  I slept peacefully for more than three hours and smiled when I woke up this morning.  That was the first time since I sold my house five months ago.

Why?  Because I was reassured that I am not alone here, and I finally understood the real reason why we’re all going through this Pandemic now.

Those who own small businesses or who want change in politics tell me they see it as a conspiracy of the 1% to control the masses.   Christian friends see it as a battle between good and evil.  My perspective is this:  now is the time to choose how we want to experience life.

With this Pandemic, everyone must choose how they want to be, what they want to experience:  Love? Or Fear?  Those are the two choices, according to astrology, the Bible, A Course in Miracles, Tarot, and my East Indian teacher, Yogi Amrit Desai.

Beginning with astrology, here are excerpts from two of Brian Hill’s weekly reports*, slightly edited by me :

Monday, 8/3 thru Sunday, 8/9

Last week my opening line read, “Hold onto your hat, because this week has the potential to be quite frenetic.

…And today, I want to expound on that pattern, so you can have a better long-term handle on it. First, I will lay out the astrological playing field and then interpret. My words are not words of fear, but rather words of faith. They are not meant to be inciteful, quite the opposite, hopefully insightful.

Currently, Uranus is challenging the Sun, which brings turmoil in its own right. The good news is that by mid-month this will lessen in intensity. Then Uranus gives us a break with its challenges until late October.

Mars’ current challenges with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto will continue for the rest of the year. This can bring a variety of expressions, which are evident by reading or watching the news and in these times just by being alive.

Not surprisingly, the tensions in this country will build to a crescendo on Nov. 3rd, election day. Again, this may be obvious if one is breathing… On Nov. 3rd Uranus will be in a hard opposition with the Sun. Both Mercury and Mars will be retrograde (RX). Mercury RX will be challenging Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto.  Mars RX will be opposing Mercury RX. Mars will still be squaring Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto but in a retrograde position. This is an astrologically choreographed perfect storm for an election.

There is good news, however. This is in the form of the blessing between the Sun and Neptune, the planet of spirituality, inspiration, and unconditional love. Using this energy is what you can do, we all can do…

If we believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience and we are experiencing a crucifixion of sorts in 2020, then we can also experience a corresponding resurrection. The continuum from crucifixion to resurrection offers a resplendent transformation. However, it’s not without effort. …

In a spiritual context, we are now all caterpillars. We are being given a monumental wake-up call. We can only awake in mass if we do the work individually. As Mahatma Gandhi aptly put it, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Each of us is on an individual journey, with distinct stories, gifts and challenges, but we all share in the same purpose and that is to share our light as radiantly as possible.

With that in mind, I would be remiss if I didn’t encourage you to take a deeper exploration of your astrological chart during this period. It gives you specific guidance how you can best navigate not only this week, but also the rest of this transformational year.   …

“One last thing. … Lead with love. See the Good. Be Kind. All are the same beautiful energy wrapped in different expressions.

Monday, 8/10 through Sunday, 8/16

… the week, one day at a time.

Mars is still agitating Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto (all in Capricorn) continuing both inner and outer tensions. The friction of Mars in Aries ramming the Capricorn energy of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto is significant. Mars wants major (Jupiter) change (Pluto) and it’s testing (Saturn) us big (Jupiter) time. Where does it want change? It wants change within the parameters of Capricorn domain, which includes big business, the economy, the government, the dysfunctional status quo, and prevailing social structure of the health, educational, congressional, political, capitalistic systems.  Without question, we live in an interesting time.

But…what can we do, right now, this week that sheds light on the situation? For that, let’s turn our attention to Neptune the planet of spirituality, unconditional love and inspiration, which is now in a beneficial aspect with all three planets in Capricorn. Neptune gives us a way of handling inner tensions and thus affecting outer lives. So, the question now becomes, how can we best work with Neptune?

The highest expression side of Neptune is about spirituality etc., and its current celestial guidance suggests the practice of the meaning behind the term Namaste’ (a.k.a. Jai Bhagwan). “I acknowledge and honor the Divinity in you.” This includes each and everyone, even when he/she is not acting particularly Divine. Observe the irritation, and then honor the Divinity. … this practice has no expiration date on it. …

And while you’re practicing Namaste,’ be mindful of the Divine within you, and honor it. Cultivate such awareness and cultivate it with a passion… cultivate it with a passion, as if your life depends on it… because it does.

Let us express Neptune this week, with blessed gratitude. Blessings, Brian
